What is a High Roller Bonus?

The vast majority of high roller bonuses are also welcome bonuses, just on a grander scale. Traditionally, welcome bonuses come in two forms:

  • No deposit bonuses – These require no financial investment from the player. Instead, the casino will credit your account with some free spins, or perhaps bonus cash, and you’ll still get the chance to play for real money.
  • Deposit bonuses – Here, you deposit a certain amount (often between $20-200) and the casino will match your deposit between 50%-100%, so players regularly double their money.

The high roller bonus is a deposit bonus, but instead of limits up to a few hundred bucks, high rollers can receive deposit matches of over 100% up to thousands of dollars. A 100%-200% deposit match up to $5,000 is not uncommon, but they sometimes go even higher still.

Multiple Deposits

A common strategy encourages players to make a sequence of deposits in order to unlock the maximum amount of bonus cash. An example bonus is as follows:

  • 1st deposit – 200% match up to $1,000
  • 2nd deposit – 100% match up to $2,000
  • 3rd deposit – 50% match up to $4,000

Here there would be up to $6,000 of free cash on offer, and you’d have to deposit $7,000 to get your hands on it. To look at things differently, the casino is giving you a chance to virtually double your original deposits – not something many players can say no to!

High Roller Bonuses with Free Spins

As a rule, free spins are marketed at lower-rolling players. This is largely because high rollers get their thrills from making huge wagers, not small, $1 spins. If it isn’t fun, then what’s the point?

However, not all high rollers feel that way, and so it’s common to have a couple hundred free spins thrown in with the high roller bonus, for good measure. These are often split over several days (so you can’t build up a huge balance) and can offer some light relief for players used to throwing down a fistful of dollars on every spin.

Why You Should Take Advantage of High Roller Bonuses

It’s important to note that if you can’t afford to bankroll a high roller bonus, then you should only use regular welcome bonuses. Problem gambling is very serious, and we’re looking out for our fellow kiwis. Most of us can’t afford to burn several thousand bucks, so don’t feel like you have a point to prove.

However, if you can afford to play the big time, then the answer to why you should take advantage of high roller bonuses is an obvious one: you’ll have much more money to play with.

Look at it this way: if you were planning to pop $1,000 in your account anyway, then why not accept the bonus and make that number $2,000, perhaps $3,000, at no extra cost to you? Sure, there will be wagering requirements to overcome, but the potential reward is so much greater if you go in with 2-3 times the budget.

Where to Find the Best Offers

You know the answer to that already: right here, my friends! We do plenty of legwork, collating data on new bonuses and putting them all up here at CasinoBonus.nz, so that you don’t have to. We keep an up-to-date record of the best bonuses with the lowest wagering requirements, so if you’re ever thinking of finding a new casino, pop by here and see if we have any new offers which might tempt you.

Alternatively, go direct to the casino. High roller promotions are usually front page news, so you’ll find the information pretty quickly whatever happens! If you aren’t sure which casino to go with, we recommend Spin Palace, Casinoland and Dunder to all of our kiwi players: great website, friendly customer service and, of course, monstrous high roller bonuses for you to enjoy!

Terms & Conditions

Most promotions will have a time limit, usually somewhere between 24 hours and one week. Make sure you check the terms before signing up, to ensure that your winnings aren’t stripped before you can cash out! In addition, there are usually upper limits to how much cash you can physically withdraw if using bonus money – check that out too.

However, far and away the biggest piece of fine print is the wagering requirement. However much bonus money you take into your account, this must be wagered several times before the profits can be withdrawn – this is to prevent players from immediately withdrawing the cash and bankrupting the casinos! The wagering requirement is often 25-40x the bonus cash, so be prepared for a few long hours spinning before it’s paid off in full.

High roller bonuses are not for the faint-hearted and, we repeat, should not be used by gamblers lacking the financial means to support their play. When used correctly, however, they offer a huge cushion on which to rest, allowing the player to withstand substantial losses while waiting for the bigger, less frequent payouts. If you’ve got the money, then high roller bonuses are your friends.
